Ms. Berschauer is an experienced litigator, having represented clients in both state and federal courts. Her practice areas include business law and complex civil litigation. Ms. Berschauer also has experience litigating probate and trust matters.
Ms. Berschauer regularly assists clients with matters of general business representation, such as preparing written agreements and employee manuals. She has assisted clients to register and maintain trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”), and has successfully appealed the USPTO’s refusal to register.
Ms. Berschauer has obtained licenses authorizing the export of goods to Iran under the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act of 2000. Her work in this regard includes submission of Commodity Classification Requests to the Bureau of Industry and Security, and license applications to the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Ms. Berschauer earned her law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Berschauer served as a staff writer and as the associate articles editor for the school’s international law review, The Transnational Lawyer. Her law review article, “Ego or Equity? Examining United States Extension of the Sherman Act,” can be found at 11 Transnat’l Law. 175. She also holds a Diploma in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Ms. Berschauer earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in English from San Diego State University, where she graduated cum laude and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
